Are you newly diagnosed with Amyloidosis?
We strongly recommend that you research the disease thoroughly, and either you or your doctor should contact one of the overseas specialist Amyloidosis Doctors, such as those at the Amyloidosis clinics, eg. the National Amyloidosis Clinic (NAC UK), or Mayo Clinic Rochester Amyloidosis Clinic (USA), (see more under our Links page) to ensure you are receiving correct and timely treatment. There are currently no doctors in Australia specializing in Amyloidosis, although we know of several who have some experience treating it. An Amyloidosis Clinic is being set up in Sydney in 2007, at the Westmead Hospital, to oversee the treatment of those patients already diagnosed. Please contact us for further information.
